An Outdoor Oasis

Recently, I had the honor of helping a customer update their outdoor cooking/hosting space. This customer had wooden doors on her outdoor stove, and wanted to snazz them up a little. So she picked out a design, and we split it across the five doors to provide a cohesive and artsy look with colors that set off the existing stone.

But she realized she still did not have the perfect outdoor hosting space. So she called me up and said she was looking for an outdoor bar to complete the area. This presented a few opportunities. First, to find a new scene in line with the existing stove doors, but that would make sense wrapped around a bar. Second, another chance to collaborate with one of my favorite master craftsmen, Rustic by Nature.

So I created the bar frame out of welded steel, plasma cut the design, and powder coated the backdrop and scene with the same dual color scheme as the existing doors. Then I bolted the backdrop and scene onto the frame. Meanwhile, Rustic by Nature poured a concrete counter, sanding and polishing it to a smooth shine. We bolted the counter to the frame after both parts were finished. The end result is an outdoor bar that is solid, heavy, and fully functional as well as artistic and frankly, pretty.

We are happy and proud to say that going forward, we are now offering custom bars in collaboration with Rustic by Nature! If you are interested in owning a piece of functional custom art, feel free to give either of us a call.
