Introducing "The Collin"

We’ve had another great and busy month that included relatives visiting in the middle of a large number of jobs. Another big thank you to all our customers!!

Today I would like to introduce you to one of my favorite designs. I like to call it “The Collin” after my good friend Collin Stoddard of #TheStoddardBuildingGroup, who I have worked with for years. The benefit of this style is that your hand can grip the rail along the entire length, without being interrupted by posts. I also like the clean aesthetic it provides to the top of the railing. Colin introduced it to me when I installed a nice set of rails in his new house. I repeated it on my own front porch; although the wife demanded a more intricate design on the bottom half, I think it looks very clean with the simple upright rails.

This was a very large project, with a full deck above and an even bigger dog run underneath. I have a great relationship with fellow welder Kyle Trujillo of #TrujilloWelding&FabricationLLC, and we partnered on this project to make sure it was completed as quickly and seamlessly as possible (you can catch a glimpse of him in that first picture). And might I add it was pretty great to have an extra set of hands on this installation!! These homeowners can now enjoy their beautiful views from a nice new, and safe, deck. Check out Pikes Peak!

Another fun job this month included a local Calhan business, the Calhan Veterinary Clinic. I replaced a wooden railing that was giving out splinters with a very clean and simple long rail. This should be sturdier for clients, eliminate any issues with splinters, and the simple lines ensure no snow will build up outside their front door. I also added in a few bumpers around his roll-up door to ensure no one accidentally runs into the building. It is always wonderful to be able to provide a service to another local small business!
